ESPN NBA 2k5

Modeps

Lifer
The reviews made me worry about NBA 2k5, giving it only luke warm ratings. Honestly, I think ESPN's entire line this year is just great. The gameplay is so much fun, and the online leagues are great. If you were worried about getting it, go for it. $20 and you cant go wrong.

This is the only issue I've found so far, and last night it cost me overtime in my league game:

the dunk/layup button is the same as the jumper button, it just depends on where you stand on the floor. I was down by two with roughly .5 second left, all alone, just inside the free throw line... I hit shoot, expecting a quick jumper, but was greeted with Dwayne Wade taking an extra step in order to try and lay it in... the buzzer sounded before he jumped for the lay, game over.

In any event, I'm very happy with my purchase.

No freaking sega games on 'Cube

:|

Here's an idea: once the cube has online gaming support, maybe they'll release games for it. also, why is a user named "XBoxLPU" complaining about games not coming out for the cube? 😉

I highly doubt the Cube will ever get online support knowing Nintendo and their attitude. Remeber Sega did release their sport series way back in 2002 on the Cube and since then they stopped ( IIRC because of lack of sales )

I did have an xbox but sold it last year in need of funds and now I do want to buy an xbox but I lack the funds... lol

Have you played NFL2k5 yet ? Madden/NCAA 2005 blows chunks. ( Madden's run game sucks, NCAA"s pass offense sucks.... thus leading to both games being unfun and unbalanced )

I'm in leagues for the big 3 (NFL, NHL, NBA) and I'm very happy with all of them... even though i suck at football. I've thought sega has been better than madden since 2k.

I usually prefer EA Sports games but I had a chance to play NBA Live 2005 and ESPN 2K5 and I have to say Sega's ESPN is way better. The graphics and gameplay feel much more realistic.

Can you a crossover without being called for a charge?

depends if you're playing against the computer or not. There's actually a 'take charge button' and basically you press it anytime you think they'll be contact. I force the computer into 5-10 charges per 20 minute game on the SuperStar difficultly. It's rather stupid.

Everytime I play against the computer, even if I have iverson, I get called for charging most of the time when I try to do the moves(crossover, spin etc). That ruined the game for me. Also the layup/dunk thing. so far
last year sega> EA
this year EA> sega

that's true, they weaked the crossover/spin move. Now jump stop > crossover/spin, and it's also an instant score everytime. Most people actually like the fact that the isomotion was weakened, make the game more realistic.
