It's a play on his visor. He's the only running back in the league allowed to have a reflective visor. The other kind gives him insane migranes.

Interesting. Does he have to wear a visor at all? I guess I'd go for the polarized visor if i had the choice.

Migranes = sensativity to light

Thus, tinting the lenses = less likely he'll get migranes.

The NFL prefers their players to wear clear lenses. But you have to be medically cleared to wear a tinted visor.

I believe it's because if/when players get hurt the trainers need to look in their eyes to see if their pupils are dilated. With tinted masks it's impossible to do unless you remove the helmet. Removing the helmet of a player with a neck injury is not a good idea.
