ESPN Got Pranked Just Now

They thought they were live on the phone with Steve Bartman (the foul ball Cubs guy). Dan Patrick was on with the guy for about 1 minute and nothing out of the ordinary was happening. Then Patrick asked him if he could stay in Chicago. They guy said something (that I couldn't understand) and it got dead silent for about 5 seconds. Dan Patrick sat there for a few seconds and then said, "We've been had. That was not Steve Bartman". Then they went to commercial.

It sounded like he said "Do you listen to the Howard Stern Show". Anybody know for sure??
 
I thought he said "Do you like Howard Stern's butt" but regardless it was totally out of the blue and I cracked up when Dan Patrick had a little smirk on his face and said they had been had. Awesome prank by whoever pulled it off.
 
I love a good prank. And this one was really good.

But it's silly how these guys do these pranks just to kiss up to some shock jock. Still, this one was good!! And being the broadcast pimp he is, Dan Patrick took it right in stride. 🙂
 
I bet it was Captain Janks. He someone gets through on these shows...he gets on CNN a lot. And says stuff like "Listen to Howard Stern", or "Would you like Howard Stern's balls on your chin", or "Howard Stern has a nice butt".
 
I'm clueless, but is it common to end the prank with howard Stern? I saw something similar on the news in LA once. When this guy claimed to be with cal-trans, and told the news people, live that the item on the side of the freeway was a pipe bomb then eventually started saying Howard Stern's name before they cut him off.
 
ontime they played one on Stern where 4 guys were lined up on cspan. and 4 callers in a row did howard stern pranks.
 
Yesterday someone called up CBS 2 News about the SI Ferry crash and told them the wind was the blame. Then he said it was because of "The 3ind from Howard Stern's _____" and they cut him off...

That was great that ESPN got cranked!


And, when I heard about the SI Ferry crash, for some reason I thought of someone maybe calling in and doing a Baba Booey...that's just despicable! :|
 
Only place this works is on TV, on the radio they have usually like a 6-second delay between what is said and what you hear so they can cut people off before they deliver their "punch line." Well done, however, by both parties. Ballsy to get in there and well handled by Dan Patrick.
 
I'd like to pull a prank on Howard Stern.

Stern: "You just dumped Gatorade on me!"
Me: "Haha, fooled you! It's really sulfuric acid and molten plutonium!"
