interesting. i always wondered if it was safe or not. I just figured it was or they wouldn't be using it.

After that hospital visit, to see a friend (and fellow goalie) who was receiving chemotherapy treatments, Griffin started a list: a list of athletes with cancer. That was in 2009. Today the list has almost 200 names. Most are soccer players. About two-thirds are goalies.
What?! Damn...
I've probably played a few hundred matches on rubber turf fields.

it is interesting. "Science takes a little bit of time"... so they're putting it out there first and we'll see what happens.

It's no wonder our town paid for a turf field at our HS out of their own good will recently. There's also a landfill (probably including tires) that probably needed clearing. And nearby towns have done the same. I'm thinking about linking this issue on the local FB page.

Our local highschools (east and west) has just put in 2 turf baseball fields, 2 turf football fields, 1 turf soccer field and soon 2 turf softball fields. I understand WHY they do it, but as I said, watching this special makes me "worry" (even just a little bit) since the science has not yet proven them truly safe (then again what ISN'T dangerous in the world today)
