I'm not a Miami fan at all (GO COLTS!), but I can just see it now...

Miami (AP) - Everyone had written them off, even before the preseason started. No one believed they had a chance - no one but themselves.

After losing Ricky Williams to retirement, the Dolphins' season was all but over. But after David Boston went down for the season, that was the nail in their coffin. So everyone thought. Just like the 1999 Rams, who critics said had no chance after losing quarterback Trent Green to injury, the 2004 Dolphins are going to the Super Bowl, after beating the 16-0 Colts at home in the AFC Championship Game.

It is the second consecutive AFC Championship loss for the Colts, who were the Super Bowl favorites all year. The Dolphins (9-7) barely made the playoffs, but have had an improbable run, all the way to the Super Bowl. Veteran wide receiver Tim Brown, who left the Raiders hungry for his own ring, provided the leadership that the Dolphins needed. And no one expected Travis Minor to step into Ricky's shoes, and run for an AFC best 1789 yards and 20 TDs. Also like the 1999 Rams, sometimes it takes an injury to uncover a gem.

The Dolphins are headed up the road to Jacksonville to prepare for the biggest game of their lives. In two weeks they face the Arizona Cardinals, as Emmitt Smith tries for one last ring. I can almost guanrantee that no one back in August thought the Super Bowl would be the Dolphins vs. the Cardinals.
