ESET Smart Security is blocking my way on the internet

Hi,

Just installed the ESET Smart Security 3 on my newly installed Windows 7

however, the security program is now blocking my way to browse through internet.
If the virus protection and firewall is turned on , then the network icon on system try will have an exclamation mark on it. if i disable both the exclamation mark will go away and i can browse normally, however it has no protection at all.

Anyone knows how can i enable the protection and browsing available.?

Thank you

Well first 3.0 is the older version since it was upgraded to 4.0 a while ago.

Second the IDS boxes all being checked by default can sometimes result in a loss of both network and internet connection.

first of all, i believe 4.0 is only better in visual and i think 3.0 can still get its job done.
Last but not least, i got it like free.

So does it mean if i use 3.0 i have to accept sometimes result in a loss of both network and internet connection?
But my experience is not sometimes, as long as both functions are on, network and internet connection will be lost.

I think you turned on too much stuff? Look at the trusted apps list. I've used 3.0, 4.0. 3.0 does the job fine.
