ESC K7S5A & Enlight 7237 Case, How to power in the leds?

I just bought a new K7S5A and Enlight Case with a 300W.

It seems I cant get power to the board. The main power from the power supply in plugged into the board. Now for the led wires, I wired 1-3 for the HDD, 5-7 for the Reset, 2-4 for the Power led but what looses me is on Enlight led has 3 pin connectors and only shows 2 pins to connect them to on the board? Then 6-8 for the power button. Ive tried swithing the wires around and no luck. The CPU fan doesnt even come on. Before I tried another PS I was wonder if anyone knew the excate wiring for the board and case? I missing something here?

Thanks!

Some cases come with a 3 pin connector for power led, but if you look there are only 2 wires. The solution is to check the board's pinout and switch one of the wires to match the pinout. Its not hard and it takes maybe 2 min at most. A small pin comes in handy here. This way the extra unused pin is sitting off the board.

As for power...try pulling the atx connector out and make sure the PS is not connected to the outlet. Is there a switch on the PS itself? Make sure that is off. Put the atx connector back in and make sure it is firm. Plug the PS to the outlet. Make sure the switch, if present, is now turned to on. Try the power button. Still doesn't work. Try flipping the power switch connector on the board around. Polarity can make a difference.

I have seen this before on many boards. It is always very frustrating. If you suspect the PS is bad, then test it in a known good system.

I have an ECS board as well (earlier edition), and ran into the EXACT SAME PROBLEM. However, I have a VERY VERY EASY solution that worked just great for me. I took a pair of wire cutters, and cut the black interface in between the wires. If you look carefully, the wires are on the extreme ends of the black connector, leaving you plenty of room to cut in between. It is very easy to cut as well, since the plastic is incredibly thin. Just make sure to cut straight. Then, with the wires separated into two black connectors, they can easily be connected to the motherboard. I had no problem cutting or connecting them, and the LED has worked just fine ever since. I will admit though, that I don't understand why ECS decided to make the connector on the motherboard different. Every other motherboard that I have used had three wires, just as the black connector has. Oh well, its still simple to solve.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Guys!

ellisgolf, that worked like a champ! I owe you one! 🙂
