"ECS and SiS confirms SiS730s (stepping A2 or before) chipset cannot support AMD processor with 133MHz FSB
Posted by overclocker at 11:06

It is confirmed by ECS and SiS that the current SiS730s (stepping A2 or before) chipset cannot support AMD processor with 133MHz FSB, in an other words, all current motherboard with 730s won't be able to support 133MHz FSB. SiS claimed that the new steeping B1, which supports 133MHz FSB, of SiS 730s will be available to manufacturers in the mid. of sept. Until this moment, none of the motherboard manufacturers has provide any kinds of solutions for customers that have brought the motherboard with previous steppings.
An Internal Memo from ECS(Taiwan):

Dear All,
We are so sorry, but we had an error typing in the below mail you received on July 13th. It should be revised to K7SEM currently is base on A2 chipset, and only supports FSB 100MHz. But in September, SiS will start to provide B1 chipset which supports FSB 133 MHz. Pls kindly revise it to customers.

Best Regards

Why buy a SiS730 with all the SiS735's out. Thats like purchasing a KT133 VIA Board ( ASUS A7V ) instead of a KT133A ( Asus A7V133 )
