eSata Xpresscard vs USB 2.0 for external hard drive on laptop

I have a notebook and an external drive. Just wondering if I bought a ESATA xpresscard, would it be faster than using USB 2.0, or does it get bottlenecked to the point where USB would be faster?

Supposedly, a 32-bit PCMCIA Type II cardbus can handle up to 132 MegaBytes per second peak. USB 2.0 is limited to a theoretical 60 MegaBytes per second and is more like half that in reality.

So, in theory, eSATA would be better, since many SATA drives can deliver 70 MegaBytes per second (or more).

Reality on a notebook with an eSATA PCCard might be different, though...
