GA-EP35C-DS3R (rev. 2.1), with "Gigabyte SATA2 chip", which is really a relabled Jmicron chip, which supports the IDE and two SATA300 ports, bridged to the PCI-E bus.
Does anyone know if the Jmicron chip supports port multipliers? If so, do those drivers support Server 2003/WHS?
Edit: This is looking up. According to the spec sheet, the JMB363 does support port multipliers.

Does the Jmicron port-multiplier support work with either one of these enclosures?
