eSATA bracket install and audio skipping PROBLEM

I bought a NexStar3 eSATA enclosure so I took the eSATA bracket from my mobo box (Gigabyte G33M-DS2R) and plugged the cables into ports 4&5. I have two SATA drives plugged into ports 0&1 and a SATA DVD into port 3. I have enabled AHCI in the BIOS installed the driver and the drive is recognized after 5 seconds of freeze where the mouse stops responding, but then it works. However since I installed the eSATA bracket I notice that audio is skipping and slowing down in multiple programs, running mp3s from a flash drive or a hard drive. Even if I don't turn the enclosure on, the audio skips. I also do notice that when this happens, in Task Manager, 'System' CPU activity spikes up to 10%. BTW, I am using XP Home SP2, and using onboard sound with newest drivers, and using original F2 BIOS of mobo. What could have started this?
