Get a squirt bottle and fill it with water. Squirt her every time she jumps up. You can hiss while you do it. If you really want to offend her, put a little lemon juice or vinegar in the water. She'll figure it out eventually.

 Probably the best/most humane way to train your cat.

That's what I was going to suggest as well. If our cats get on the table or something, we just have to aim the squirt bottle at them and they jump down pretty damn quickly.

And in your cat's diary, you find....

DAY 752 - My captor continues to taunt me with bizarre dangling objects. He dines lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant.

Does anyone else find it a little funny that someone with "war" "demon" and "666" in his username is posting about his kitty? ;)

i'm not a big fan of the squir bottle at all. first off, he's still going to get up on the counters while you are gone. of course if you aren't eating you may have achieved your goal. but more importantly, he will associate you with punishment AND be extremely resistant to being bathed or sprayed with any sort of cat shampoo.
