Errors when transferring files to windows file shares with Snow Leopard?

Seems like every time I try to transfer a file I get an error - "The Finder can't complete the operation because some data in "filename" can't be read or written. (Error code - 36)"

The thing is, the file is actually transferred successfully - it works on the other end. I'm guessing the error occurs when it's writing some file metadata on either my Mac or the file share. Is anyone else experiencing this, and is there a fix for it?

Edit:
It's possible that it only affects files that were created after I upgraded to Snow Leopard. I just copied some older files without issues.
