Error with IWill KK266

I purchased a refurb IWill KK266 from Newegg last week. I plugged everything up and let it go and after checking my ide devices and just before booting into windows 2000 i get this error:

Floopy disk(s) fail (40)

I also have a problem shutting down because it keeps clicking like it wants to shut down, but the power is still on.

Anyone else have these problems and know how to fix them?

Thank you for the advice in advance.

The most obvious solution is that your floppy drive is not plugged in properly. It's happened to me a lot. Either you have it upside-down, or the plug might be offset and missing a set of pins. I've done both.

It could be something else, but this is what it is for me 90% of the time.
