Error when creating a Bootcamp partition

I am trying to install Win7 on my late 2012 rMBP. When I get to the step of creating the partition it thinks for a bit and then tells me "Error. Cannot create the partition". Nothing else as far as helpful dialog.

I assume the partition can be made "on the fly", meaning my drive is in use and has data on it, right? Or do I need to do a clean install and create the partitions when installing OSX?

I've done a verify permissions and repaired a few odd ball errors it returned. That didn't help.

Thanks.

Boot from the recovery partition and do a repair on the Macintosh HDD volume. For a supposed 'it just works' OS the file system sure is finicky and prone to crapping out with the least provocation.

Thanks. And just do the same deal with the check and repair?

I still do the install from the regular OSX partition, right?

Yeah yeah, check/repair drive and permissions. You'll need to start BC install from the OS drive itself once that's done. Disk Repair will more than likely fix whatever is up, but you can't be booted in the OS drive that you're going to fix - hence booting into the recovery partition.
