Error on Start Up

When I start up the comp it makes 2 of the beeping noises and it says the error:

Resource Conflict - PC Network Controller
Bus: 00, Device: OE, Function: 00

I recently installed a ethernet adapter because I needed it for my sbc yahoo dsl.

The ethernet adapter is in properly because it shows a light in the back of it.

Please help.

That'd be my suggestion as well. Try to use the furthest slot from the video card.
 
also free up some com resources ....uninstall network device...upon restart go into bios and disable both(if u have 2) serial ports...then reinstall the nic...nic's are famous for misbehaving in 98 if they have to share resources.
