Dear Friends ..... Have a desktop PC the I Would like to upgrade current OS ( XP ) to a later Windows OS version. I cannot get into the BIOS to set the initial Boot order. Upon start up I get the "ERROR: No configuration file found". What do I have to do in order to set up the boot order to start/read from the the start? And/or eliminate the ERROR? Hope this helps? Any an all suggestions, assistance would be appreciated. Thank you very much! SM

It sounds like you don't have a harddrive formatted and its trying to boot from HD.
Did you try entering the BIOS? ClIck F2 key during boot. Some BIOSes may use F10 or F8

If the BIOS is giving this error then you would likely need to reflash, which can only do done at the factory at this point.

I've tried all the suggestions you mentioned, however I can not get the BIOS to come up. Thanks for taking the time to explain to this SC where the problem appears to be.

Just a thought? Could I replace the HD that is in the system with a New HD. The system currently has one HD. Then/maybe I can get it to boot up the BIOS and install another OS? SM
