Error message on booting from floppy

I'm trying to boot from floppy with DR-DOS to format an old Seagate drive. I get the message "Can't load BDOS kernel file: A:\IBMDOS.COM. System halted". Any idea what it's looking for?

The Seagate U4 is a slave to the master FX120T drive. I'm using a copy of DiskWizard from the seagate website....

hi,
where did you get the dos botdisk?
try the one from http://www.bootdisk.com
those have always worked for me.

The disk is a bootable floppy with DR-DOS / DiskWizard on it to install and format the drive....

hi,
maybe it has errors, or has become corrupted. does it boot any other computers?
have you tried a boot disk from the drdos image on bootdisk.com?
if it works, then something isnt right with the floppy you are using. if it doesnt work either, could be a memory problem.
