my friend's comp boots into win2k and this message appears:

hooking bootstrap interrupt 18h!


whats up with that?

That just means that he has a NIC card with a EPROM on it, from the sound of it is seems to be a intel based card very probably the Intel PRO100+. In the start it is just checking to see if there is a bootp server available to boot off the network.

Of course, if the system stops here and does not continue, then I would check my boot order and make sure the drives are connected properly.
