This is the message I get on my PC when I go to remove this File Advance PC Care that was downloaded on PC. Using XP 3. Error: Message File ... C/Program Files|advance PC-Care| Unis000. Msg is missing. Please CORRECT the problem OR obtain a new copy of program.

At this time I want to remove this Software and would like to know what I have to do to remove this. This is perhaps the first time I downloaded software that did not include a file or a way to Have it removed. Any an all suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to assist with this matter. SM USAF 62-66

Sounds like the uninstaller is corrupted. Download this freeware program and it should allow to to manually remove the program:

I was able to find the setup.exe ... but as you mentioned it was evidently corrupt. When I clicked on it I got the same Error message as I posted. I fiddled about this for a while an not sure what occurred but I deleted the setup.exe from the Advance PC-Care program file????

Eventually I was able to get the Program removed but what a slick trick the Program has built into it. As believe I have to purchase the program to reinstall it. Thanks for the Link. SM

sounds like another one of those fake "clean your PC" apps.

The instructions from Bleepingcomputer are very thorough. Personally, I just run Malwarebytes Antimalware as it catches 99% of that stuff. Rkill is great if you need to stop any running processes but you must run it as administrator. I also check the start up tab in Task Manager to see what runs when I boot up my PC. In XP that would be found by clicking Run and typing msconfig and there should be your start up tab. You can uncheck suspicious programs that way.
