Error Loading Operating System Win 2k

After the initial setup boot of Win 2k when it formats the drive, and installs initial files, it reboots. Of course the floppy boot disk is popped out and I get an error loading operating system. Any ideas. Thought the harddrive was busted so I tried it on a different machine and it worked fine.

System:
BH6 motherboard latest bios,
IBM 45 gig GXP ATA 100
Riva TNT2 videocard

all other cards pulled out for install.

Yeah, I got a similar error. If there is a read error on the cd drive, but install still goes through, initial installation will seem ok, but crash on boot. Bad thing about mine, was it didn't allow boot from a:, cd, or whatever. Had to take the HD out to format from another computer.

I can redo the format on the computer with the problem...it's just I can't seem to get this win2k install to "stick"

Second time I installed, used a better CD drive (my version is on a CDR) so this may or may not affect you. Now it works fine.

If your drive is going thru a Promise IDE card, be sure to get the latest driver (1.60) from thier website an hit F6 when you start the boot to install the driver during the os install. I had this problem with my BX6r2.
