Strange Issue Booting Windows - Need Help Please.
I have an Asus K8V-VM motherboard and I'm using a SATA 80GB HDD.

I am having an issue on the first cold boot of each use.. I turn the ccmputer on and then after about 15 seconds I get:

"Error Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key"

All I do is hit CTRL+ALT+DEL, it resets and it then boots right into Windows.. Makes NO sense what so ever.. I can then do system restarts with no problem but if I do a shutdown or a hibernate and try to turn it back on it does the same thing.. It tells me the above error, I manually reset and it goes right into Windows..

Any ideas on this?

Thanks much.

Turn on boot delay, or sometimes called the power up delay, it will allow more time for your hdd to spin up. But honestly, if it cant spin up in time it needs replaced anyway. that or your power supply cant handle the load.

Already tried the boot delay..

About the HDD.. It's showing no signs at all of malfuction.. The PC runs perfectly fine with no hiccups once in Windows.. Same thing about the PSU. If it couldn't handle the load wouldn't I have problems other than this?

Thanks for the reply.

sorry, i was out the house yesterday.
okay, glad to see you have the latest bios for the board. in the bios should be a hdd wait time (depends on how it's worded), you may want to check that and see if the HDD is being given time enough to run up. that's an option to check.
