I keep getting an error message "explorer has caused an error in oleaut32.dll. explorer will now close." Can someone tell me how to correct this problem or what might be causing it. I tried Dell's customer service, but they suggested restoring my computer to an earlier time. I dont really want to try and back up 6 to 8 months or so of data. I cant seem to find anything about this error message anywhere. HELP PLEASE.

what windows version? what version of internet explorer?

try this:

go to the control panel > add or remove programs > select internet explorer, then do to 'repair' option (if available on your version)

then maybe oleaut32.dll is corrupt....try reinstalling the Oleaut32.dll from the ME cdrom. Use MSCONFIG, and extract the file from WIN_14.CAB to Windows\System
