Error downloading Vista with Win2000

My event viewer (eventvwr.msc) indicates: "The IIS Admin Service service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified."

I searched Microsoft for "IIS Admin Service failed to start" and got nothing.

Is this a piece of software that is not normally loaded with Win2000?

Regardless, how do I overcome this problem?

Download a download manager like flashget and feed it the url. Microsoft's download manager sucks.

Actually I was headed in that very direction, I have used FlashGet for some time. At the beginning of the download process Microsoft asked if I was going to use their downloader. I selected "No" at which point I was thrown out and blocked from access to the download site. It was only after I bitched to Microsoft that I was provided with a "second chance" (my words, not theirs) and was given special instructions as to how to proceed from there. This process did not have the same screens as I had seen on my earlier attempt.

I am not particularly anxious "to offend the Gods" a second time.

That error has nothing to do with downloading vista. You apparently have IIS installed on your box and one of the services associated with it is not starting.

I have succeeded in downloading Vista using Shawns approach. In fact all I did was click on the link he provided and Firefox with its own flashget took it from there.

"You apparently have IIS installed on your box and one of the services associated with it is not starting" Oh?????????????? So should I worry?
