I have a Quantum Fireball AS and an IBM 60gxp hooked up together, on different IDE channels and cables.

Anyway, when trying to copy a 700mb file from the Quantum to the IBM, I get an "ACCESS IS DENIED" halfway through, saying that the disk may be full or write protected, or file is in use.

Well the QUANTUM has about 200mb space left, and the IBM has about 40 gigs left, so I'm not sure how that would affect it.

Any ideas? I'm not using the file or anything

Could be the issue when transfering big files over the VIA IDE driver. Do you have the latest 4-in-1s installed? I know that there's a known issue with the Via 686B... maybe my fellow AnandTechers could shed some light.

I second that and also the question. It sounds like the all to familiar and scary VIA bug.

Alright. I only have the 4.28's installed because with the 4.30 it won't recognize my CD-RW and my DVD rom at the same time.

Thanks guys.

Btw what is the best version to install?
