Win 2000 pro.

Start-->Programs-->Accesories-->System Tools-->System Information-->Componenets-->Conflicting Devices

I found the following in the Conflicing Devices Folder.

[Problem Devices]

Device PNP Device ID Error Code
Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4373&SUBSYS_71411462&REV_00\3&61AAA01&0&9A 28

It's error code 28.

Any Idea on what this could be? I only have an external hard drive plugged into rear USB. I have a Mistsumi floppy/card reader combo hooked up to the onboard USB jack. Both the external drive and the card reader work. I hava a SATA internal hard drive.

What Service pack 2k?
What hw?

might want to try an updated chipset driver from mobo manufacturer [after installing new service packs if needed - minimum sp3]

I updated everything via windows update when I installed Windows a few days ago. Beyond that, I don't know what service pack.

hw=hardware?

Connect up the USB device,

Can you go into event viewer?

Control panel/admin tools/event viewer
Look in both the application and the system logs.
Look for 'X' an "!" that might correspond to connecting the device.

Post the
SOURCE, EVENT ID, and any text that is in the 'description' bit
