thats an error i get while trying to check outlook mail sometimes. i understand this error but not sure on the best way to fix it. all webmail instances are closed so i can only assume that its the android phone and outlook locking 1 or the other out while trying to check mail?

You'd have to talk to whoever runs the POP server, there's nothing you can do from your end.

Postfix doesn't do POP so you'll need to look at whatever POP daemon you have setup. But why not switch to an IMAP server instead?

ok, sorry im kinda a noob at this.

i would much rather do IMAP. so i changed the email settings in outlook to IMAP server and email worked for a minute then stopped. when i switched back over to POP email stopped completely. i receive no errors sending and receiving but nothing is happening. not even webmail shows the emails i have been trying to send back and forth. wonder what i did.

is there something i need to setup first? how can i get email back up? i checked the maillog and everything seems fine except for a random SQUAT error every now and then. ugh i need a day with an expert to iron all this stuff out

The only thing I've seen mention SQUAT is the Cyrus suite of mail daemons, is that what you're trying to use?

to be honest i am not sure, i am running a godaddy VPS running CentOS 5.4 and i setup the mailboxes using simple control panel. i edited the postfix master.cf file to use port 587 instead of 25 so outlook could send mail using our ISP. other than that, my knowledge is fairly limited.

my goal is to get the email working using IMAP (cause everything i read is that its better/faster) flawlessly while using outlook on the client side.

*edit*

seems only mail sent within the domain bob@domian.com and sam@domain.com does mail go through
