I have my own fav. setting with my soundcard (Santa Cruz) and my left rear speaker doesn't work.

No, the connection is fine. I triple checked it
No, the speaker is fine because read the following
No, soundcard settings are properly configured

The strange thing is when I turn the M3D button (supposedly 3D simulator) that speaker works perfectly. But when off, the left rear speaker doesn't work... sometimes it works but sound is noticably weaker than right rear one... WTF?

The M3d button is meant for people who dont have a 4.1 sound card. What it does is it filters the input that is sent to the fornt speakers and takes out some stuff and sends it to the rears...thus if you only had one speaker out on your computer you can sorta use all four in a wannabee 4.1..when you press m3d and that rear speaker works it means that for some odd reason its not getting the audio signal when m3d is off...are u sure ur wires are rite? beacuse it seems that satilite is working.

Just modify the speaker to have the light on as a power light ;).

Set the fade so the rear speakers aren't making much (if any) sound, and have M3D on..you get the green light, no M3D effect..but only 2.1 sound. Can't win 'em all, I guess...

Its your wire or sound card or connection....that left speaker is not properly connected to the source. But M3D only uses the front two channels as its input, so when you turn that on, the rear inputs shut off.
