I love the color and that car is timeless.

They are a great car, but I wouldn't say timeless...easy to peg that car as a new Beamer. Some of the elite MB's and Rolls are pretty timeless. The old style MB (boxey one) is still made under some other marquees overseas and the Rolls/Bentley's have only recently gotten major facelifts.

I always love the M3's. There isn't one from the original to now I didn't look good.

914 FTW

Other than a Lotus that would be my autox car

There are very few 100hp cars that offer as much fun as the 914. :)

There is a 190hp one though.

*cough* Lotus Elise *cough* ;)

What does a 914 weigh? I suspect it is similar to the Elise in the fun to drive category. How easy is it to get in and out of?

BTW-Your 944 is very clean.

My 914 weighs in at just about 1,900 pounds, wet. Stock they weighed 2,000-2,100 pounds depending on options. Mine has no options and the sound-deadening was removed before I bought it.

It was easier to get in and out of before I put in the aftermarket seats, but it's very, very low (think eye-level to a Camry's rear bumper) and you do kind of "curl" into and out of it. The aftermarket seats were a very bad idea in retrospect, and when I get around to it, I want to replace them with original seats again.

I love the Lotus too though. Just too expensive for me at the moment. That and the 944 is already more electronics and emissions controls than I like dealing with. We do need more cars like the Elise though. It's definitely an under-represented type of vehicle.

The 944 looks a lot cleaner in those photos than she is. She's full of stone chips in the front and is about due to have the seats re-covered (21 year old straw-colored leather is showing a lot of wear). Mechanically she's perfect though. Just what one would want from a car that's a driver. :)

Quick question...why do you have such a girl type keychain if it's your car.

Linky no worky. But I saw your previous post... I like Viggens. Very underrated car IMHO. You'll find more Viggen fans on TCL.
