I want a new phone. my current one sucks:

I like the ericsson pic phones because they have cameras. Especially the 2.0 mega pixel ones, even though I'd settle for a 1.3....


but what's the diff between all of them? There seems to be the K750i, the W800i and the S710a (1.3mp). but not all sites list all of them. The sony site doesn't even acknowledge the 750 in north america, although it seems to be the same as the w800.... is there a diff? Thanks.

w800 i think has an mp3 player

k750i isn't in america because no carrier is selling the k750i

i'm not sure if the k750i is scheduled for a US release but you can get them from asian dealer

not sure about the s710a but i do know that that is the cheapest

pretty much all phones will have cameras nowadays

and if you are looking for quality get a phone with a CCD not CMOS sensor

but they tend to be slightly larger but the pictures will look much better (less grainy)

the k750i is an excellent all around phone and a leader in the camera front and all the features it has.

the k750i is an excellent all around phone and a leader in the camera front and all the features it has.

The K750i comes with a mp3 player too, though you don't have the ability to sort as much.

The W800i and K750i are pretty much the same phone but with different casing and firmware, the biggest difference is that the W800i has flight mode (mp3 player capability only, phone is not transmitting) and comes with a 512MB MS Pro DUO card (opposed to the 64MB included with the K750i) and better headphones. You can flash a K750i with the W800i firmware if you wanted to.

QFT. The headphones are the same as MDR-EX71s, so qualitywise, expect the same. I've tried the HPM-70s (headphones that come wtih the W800i) and a MDR-EX71/51 (I have both dont ask me why) with a 3.5mm adapter for my K750i. Works flawlessly.

W800i and K750i have the same bands so don't worry. I say the K750i is a lot more worth it. $150 w/ new contract vs $330 for a W800i. I like the K750i's camera shutter more, and definitely the casing/housing a lot more than the W800i. However, I have like 4 MP3s on my phone only and a bunch of photos before my 64mb card is already filled up.

S710 is a generation too old. It's a swivel phone and it's HUGE compared to the K750/W800 and even much larger than the old K700.

As for camera resolution, its not as simple as 1.3MP vs 2MP like in regular cameras we have today. With each higher res camera comes also MUCH better lenses. If you took the 2MP camera on a K750i and shot at VGA resolution and compared to your Moto V600/RaZr there would be a HUGE difference. If you shot your K750i @ 1.3 resolution and compared to a Moto V710 or a SE S710, there would be a huge difference too. The lens is TERRIFIC on the K750i.

My girlfriend received her W800 yesterday; so far, it's a very nice phone, but I prefer the menu structure and look 'n' feel of my S700 myself.
 
I have the k750i, just awsome 😀

the k800 is the same basicly except you can play mp3's when the phone is turned off, perfect for inflight entertainment. But the k750 can play mp3's just as well, has radio, video player, camera ofcorse and much much more.
