You anti-immigrant folks really need to get out and let other Americans know where you stand on this issue! Raise hell! Keep pointing out how the lazy, dirty immigrants are destroying the beautiful glistening white America that you love! Get out there and protest! Primary the immigrant-loving Republican politicians and replace them with people with your views. Your POV is exactly what the Republican party needs...

to finally destroy itself. Keep up the good work!

Where did he say anything about legitimate immigrants coming into the country? Are you so brainwashed that you see "righty" and "immigrant" and immediately think that they are against all immigration? Did you not see the word ILLEGAL? So many questions that you can't properly answer without looking like a complete dumbass.

If amnesty, obamacare, and trillion dollar deficits in perpetuity are "the farthest right" positions I'd hate to see what the democrats are really in favor of, lol.

I imagine this hilariously false depiction of cantor is on purpose, but in case it isn't you really need to learn about the people you're discussing.

I was going to say, didn't Cantor vote against all those things? Wasn't Cantor the fucking FACE of the Tea Party in the House?

cantor rejected old dr. paul's pro-market health care legislation as long as both were in congress together, so the former did indeed pave the way for the unaffordable care act by not allowing health care to return to market level prices and quality. cantor voted for medicare part D. and cantor is neither left nor right. he was a thorough Neo-Republican partyman who loved being part of the ruling class just like the vast majority of those who voted against medicare part d were neither left nor right, but were instead Wilsonian Partymen.

I am pretty sure Cantor voted against Obamacare, always voted to repeal it, and was one of the longest holdouts against the budgets and ceiling increases. What are you talking about?

Eric Cantor was in approximately the 80th percentile for conservatism in the current US House according to 1st dimension DW-NOMINATE scores. He's extraordinarily conservative by any measure.

Except on certain hot button issues which evidently matter in his district.

Sort of let's the Supreme Court off the hook for saying "Money is speech."
Money did not win here.
Koch Bros aren't doing all that well in their bid to influence America.

Yes. One of the most conservative House members in the most conservative House in US history was not completely in line with conservative orthodoxy on immigration. Therefore, he was unacceptably liberal.

That's pretty amazing.

If he had been more conservative, this wouldn't have happened. The only thing to do now is shift further right.

I don't suppose you see any difference between anti-illegal immigration and racism.

There are approximately equal numbers of pro life Democrats and pro choice Republicans serving in Congress. If your argument is that on one issue Democrats are as dogmatic as Republicans are, all I can say is... ok, so?

So don't make it out as though single-issue or dogmatic voters are a Republican-only institution.

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make here. I only skimmed that link but didn't see any reference to a hardcore liberal losing a primary because they were pro-life.

Ah, so you can't imagine the Democratic party running a pro-life liberal out on their ass?

Gotta love the smell of intellectual dishonestly in the morning.

he supports some it but there are people who dont support any of it. he supported all of bush's unbalanced budgets plus he voted for the tax payer relief of 2012 act (which was actually a tax increase) along with boehner.

and his ranking, at least on fiscal issues, has gone up only because someone not from his party is president

I think using an imaginary situation to counter an actual event that really happened is the intellectual dishonesty, if you really want to go there.

How much was spent by outside groups- you know, "non-profits", PACS & so forth?

It's important to remember that there's a lot of not so obvious spending on behalf of Tea candidates. It's also important to realize that primaries are often won by zealots & don't necessarily reflect the desires of the electorate at all.

Mainstream Repubs need to wise up, recognize that letting their most ardent far right financial supporters radicalize their base has its downside, like them starting a civil war for control of the Party. They'll turn on anybody, eat their own to get what they want. The Teahadists are their instrument.

I wonder what the turnout was. I know the teahadist luv,m some low voter turnout.

Former congressman Ben Jones (D-Ga.), better known as "Cooter" from Dukes of Hazzard, has a plan to knock Eric Cantor out of the House. He's urging his fellow Democrats to cross over and vote for a tea party-backed candidate in Virginia's primary election.

I wonder how many people crossed the lines to vote in Brat.
