Ergonomics: ms intellimouse explorer vs logitech mouseman dual optical?

right now, i have a ms intellimouse optical.. very nice mouse and everything.. but noticed recently my index finger lately has been bothering me.. early signs of carpal tunnel maybe.. shakes (ever so slightly, which i should probably get to a doctor to check out) and sometimes just feels funny..

so i was thinking it might help to get one that's ergonomically shaped, like the intellimouse explorer or the logitech mouseman dual optical. any recommendations on comfort between the two?

pretty busy this weekend so i dont have to go down to fry's to check the mice out, so thought id get some preliminary opinions. thanks 🙂

i would say the dual optical. one sensor screws up the other ones probably still tracking and so your cursor doesn't skip😛 i don't have it but i've owned 4 optical mice with single sensors. they do kinda need a second sometimes it seems. logitech is reliable and build quality good🙂

i love my logitech mouseman wheel optical....ergonomic for the right hand and the thumb button is in exactly the right place🙂

I have the Explorer 3.0 as well.

What's the use of a second sensor? Does the first one fail often on Logitech mice?

the 2nd one is for better precision.. i would get one that only single optical, but when i was checking logitechs website, the only 2 egnomic mice they had was the dual optical and the wireless (since i play cs/fps type games, id want a corded mouse).

Not being able to resist OM's 30% off mice last week, I tried a few new ones out. Logitech, while their build quality has dramatically improved over the years, is still substantially behind MS in both feel and fit. Logitech's just didn't give me enough clearance for the thumb side and refused to allow the side buttons to be assigned to no function.

Add MS's outstanding warranty service with their hardware (just replaced an Optical Explorer in less than a week with only one phone call) and Logitech comes in a distant second. (The aforementioned mouse that was replaced turned out to be not bad.....just a funky-acting USB port. Oh well, guess that new Explorer will come in handy.)

I've got the Dual Optical, from using a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 1.0, I can safely say that this is the best mouse I have ever used in my life.
