Any FPS gamers try out the Ergodex DX-1 pad? Street price.

Review

My current Logitech Elite keyboard is having issues with strafing in Quake. Usually skips or I have to double tap it a few times to get it to move. By that time, I've been railed. :( I could jus essentially replace the keyboard. But, If I'm going to replace the keyboard with something, I want something with more flexibilty and the Ergo looks to be answer.

Has anyone here used it in Quake3,4 or COD2 Team DM? How are the macro functions working out?

150 bucks is a lot of money to drop on a "input pad". you can get one of probably 4 or 5 fps gamer pads or whatever you want to call them for closer to 30.

HOWEVER, the razer keyboard looks promising if you're into that. i do love my copperhead mouse.

Love my DX-1. There's another thread buried somewhere in the forums here. I used it for HL2DM and Q4. I could configure it for EVE Online but the way the game is designed, I don't believe it would be very useful. Regardless, the DX-1 is awesome and the software is amazingly versatile and let's you set up nearly any action you want and then some. There is really no limit in what you can use it for - you will want to invest some decent time setting up a quality key config you are comfortable with. Once you find that, you'll need to set your macr..er, strafing cfg.

Thanks for the post. I was reading about how the keys tend to move around during game play. Have you had that issue?

No, I haven't had this issue at all. Once you affix them to the plastic that snaps onto the board, they shouldn't become loose. I've been using it for five months and never had an issue with the keys. If they do loose their stickiness, just apply a moist q-tip to the sticky part.
