I am at wits end! My system suffers from a spontaneous crash, at any time. It appears to be a hardware crash, not related to any specific app. Can happen at boot up, or any other time. Can also not happen for days, although is increasinnly more common. I had same syptoms on previous system, was power related and or poor power capabilities on MB/PSU (Epox7KXTA). Present system is:
Win2K
ABIT KT7A
300W PSU
1G-266 Tbird
256M Cas 2Mem
CD ROM-IDE
CD ROM Burner-IDE
1-IBM 75GXP 45G
1-DimonMax+ 40G
LS120
GEForce DDR
Adaptec SCSI-Scanner
2nd Parallel port/board SIIG
On previous system I switched to ASUS A7V and problem disappeared. However I read so much about how the ABIT KT7A had such great power capacitors on MB. One thing obviously, if I attempt to do a system backup, after about 600M, system will crash, always. That works the hardrives vigorously, sound like too much power drain?
I give up. Should be a kick system but is unstable.
Thanks for you help.
