Erasing inside a PDF.

I have some book pages I scanned into a PDF, and I'm trying to clean them up (black splotches and what not). How do you remove things like this? Can they simply be erased with some function?

You need a full up PDF editor to do that. Or, some high end word processors can also do it if they have a PDF plug in.

Full Acrobat or Reader? The Full Acrobat has an edit function in the menu system. If you can't find it, use HELP to find Edit.

When I do that sort of a job, I scan into my word processor, do all the editing and clean up, then SAVE AS/Print the PDF file.

Okay, I figured it out. I had to go to use something in the "Advanced Tools" menu to tough up objects, then right-click and select "Edit Page", which opens it in Photoshop.
