If I open up ezcd creator 5 with a cdrw in the drive, a listing of all the files that are currently on the cd will appear. Now I know that I can completely erase a cdrw and start all over, but is there any way to selectively erase files? I notice that I can click on files in the cd layout that have already been burned to the cd and delelte them, but does that really free up the space on the cd to be overwritten by other data? Specifically what I am trying to do is replace a version of a patch I have on a cdrw disc with a newer version, and I want to do it without completely erasing the whole disc. Can it be done?

Yes you can delete individual files. See page 7-20 of your ECDC 5 User's Guide. You basically do it with Windows Explorer.

1. Insert CD into CD/RW Drive.

2. Open Windows Explorer, find the disk and file and right click on the file you want to delete.

3. Select Delete in the right click menu.

4. Click 'Yes' to delete the selected file.

Looks like the CD has to be formatted with DirectCD.. that's given me problems in the past...winxp's built in cd recorder works like directCD (ie drag and drop files, delete individual ones, etc.) right?
