Agreed. A large number of North Koreans live in poverty. No way they're that high.

A lot of the reason for the lower IQs in the poorer countries (besides not as much education) is that IQ tests are incredibly biased in favor of western countries and practical knowledge for people in a lot of these countries doesn't include thep problem solving stuff that's on the test. IQ scores aren't really a good measure of their intelligence.

How does being wealthy correlate to being "smart"?

There's too many aspects of your statement that makes absolutely no fkn sense, and I'll just leave it at that.

Most of IQ results between countries can be explained through basic math and reading skills. The tests just aren't very good at measuring the intelligence of people who've never been taught to read write and do simple math.

How many of those came from other countries?

These statistics are about IQ, not money, no one is arguing that IQ is what you measure a society by except you, why do you make it sound like that?

For the most of the 185 nations, no studies are available. In those cases, the authors have presented an estimated value by taking averages of the IQs of surrounding nations. For example, the authors arrived at a figure of 84 for El Salvador by averaging their calculations of 79 for Guatemala and 88 for Colombia. Those estimates are not included in calculations of income differences and do not appear in the table below.

Several cases merit specific attention. To obtain a figure for South Africa, the authors averaged IQ studies done on different ethnic groups, resulting in a figure of 72. The figures for Colombia, Peru and Singapore were arrived at in a similar manner. For People's Republic of China, the authors used a figure of 109.4 from a study done in Shanghai and adjusted it down by an arbitrary 6 points because they believed the average in China's rural areas was probably less than that in Shanghai. Another figure from a study done in Beijing was not adjusted downwards. Many have argued that data used by Lynn (with strong Chinese connections) was biased otherwise.

Ummm, IQ is not a measure of how educated you are. It is a measure of how you go about proceeding through a problem in a logical and systematic process.

IQ != knowledge

That seems about right. A specific Jewish group, Germans, and east Asians have the highest IQs according to previous studies.

i hold as much faith in these statistics as i did in the ones showing iq by state (which, btw, were completely made up)
