I think I killed my ECS board.

I'm looking for equivalent boards (ones that will work with my existing cpu (XP1500+) vid card (Microstar-8815 Pro card) and mem (PC2100).

When I was shopping for a motherboard for this last set-up, I remember there was an good MSI board available.

These days you can get a better board than the ECS K7S5A for the same dough.

I do understand the K7S5A bent though. I have one here in the system I'm typing this on. Best budget board I've ever owned.

I was looking around - cheapest good/name brand boards are around $40-$50?

I put together another computer, but this one is still around, so I'd like to use it - since it's secondary, just something cheap.

The only problem I have with this ECS board is that it takes so long to get thru bios screen. Other than that, it was fine

MSI KM4AM-L

mATX, with everything onboard (6 channel sound) and agp slot.

Very decent board and supports XP 3000+.

PC CHIPS M811LU (a.k.a. ECS K7VTA2 PRO) KT266A/VT8235 sells for around $30 ~ $35 delivered. Cheap, well refined mainboard, comparable to SIS735.

ECS K7VTA3 v6.0 KT333/VT8235 sells for around $40 delivered. Cheap, well refined mainboard, supports 333FSB, exceeds SIS735.

Gigabyte 7S748-L SIS748/963L sells for around $55 delivered. Nice 6CH Audio, up to 400FSB and XP3200+, DDR400, way better than either of the above.
