Equinox - can you really balance an egg on it's long end?

No Lifer
I want to try this. Apparently there is a myth (or fact, don't know) that you can balance an egg on it's long end on a flat surface.

What say the smart folks of ATOT? This precept disagrees with everything I know about physics.

I seriously doubt the equinox can affect the balancing of an egg. If it's real, then it should be more widespread than just a myth, no? I've never heard it before.

Well that's why I'm asking the smart folks of ATOT. It doesn't make any sense.

But if I can find out what/when is the TRUE equinox in GMT time and try it out I will.

Bless you my brother. May your celebrations be grand and your women be fertile.

12:03 EDT is when I shall jump over the fire and observe the eggs.

Well I can tell you one place where you will NEVER be able to do this. Matter of fact it's plain bad to let an egg out of hand. :Q

All time is arbitrary. There is no true "GM" in the concept of math. The ruling party sets the rules. This is why we don't make EST or PST (etc...) GMT. Britain was the ruling empire of the world and to the victor go the spoils.

You can do it at any time. Equinox, Solstice, whenever.

Yeah, just put a little dent in the bottom of the egg and it'll balance all day long.

Don't even have to do that. I've balanced one without even altering it.

However if you must cheat, just shake the egg. It'll make all the yoke inside more evenly distributed.
