EQ2 goes Aion.

Meh, all my old characters were hacked and are naked. Found out when I logged in to check out the F2P. They wanted me to reinstate my paid account before they would look into the matter. I told em "no thanks."

that looks.... wrong somehow.. you can tell it wasnt ment to be implimented or something.

With Aion they planned ahead for it, and made sure it fit it with quests/pvp/character animations/ ect ect.
This somehow doesnt look like that.


Im kinda hyped for Free2play Aion, I ll be playing that soon as I can (feb 1st?)...
Id recammend people that want wings to do the same 🙂

It was fun for awhile in Aion. Used to love running up a hill then jumping off and hitting spacebar. It was even fun in the void, or whatever the heck they called the big PvP zone in the middle of the planet. It was definitely a unique mechanic at the time, and provided just about all the attraction of that game as far as I was concerned.

... Sir.. what about giving everyone some random ass, tottally off looking WINGS, then they can fly anywhere.

Damn that Aion 3.0 video looks pretty nice. Aion always peaked my interest but never got around to playing it. Also heard it was a big grindfest?

If it's indeed going free2play, I want to give it a try. Hoping theres been alot of updates that's improved the game since its launch?

Looks like theres a free trial I can check out. For MMO's I've played FFXI, WoW, and Rift....can't say I really enjoyed WoW except for the fact that I was able to play with RL friends. FFXI on the other hand holds alot of fond memories... Rift was garbage and I quit after a month.

So are there any AION players still? Is it worth starting up an account? I can't wait for Guild Wars 2 anymore for my MMO fix.

edit: ok so it seems like you can only get a free trial for Aion from an active player. If anyone here can send a trial invite, let me know. thanks!

18 days still... until it goes free2play in europe.

And yeah... Aion is still getting updates, and its bound to be better now than then.

Yes its grinde fest, but so was FFXI, and I loved that game🙂
Aion isnt nearly as bad as FFXI was with its grinding though (its tougher than WoW though, where in a few days you can hit max cap).

I mean in ffxi.... 2months time to level a character to 75, if you where lucky with parties. Suffer a death, spend 30-45mins getting the exp back (solo) that you lost, or joing a group and do it in 10mins.

It was not socially acceptable, not to show up with decent gear, and use food (which was expensive). So before you could even start to grind, you would need to farm a hour or so to pay for the food costs.

that said, no other MMO has had PVE content anywhere near as challengeing/rewarding when you accomplish it.
