EQ Classic server petition

Trying to get the word out about this petition. The new EQ producer mentioned the possibility of a classic server, so now is the time to sign this.

EQ IMO was good untill the GOD expansion. I understand the want for the oldschool content but if your that adamant about it why not play on the emulated servers?

I did.. the only one shut down 2 days ago. Too many cheaters and no GM support

Don't you think it would get stagnant? It was fun, and the game definitely went downhill starting with SoL, but without new content I'm not sure I'd want to play it. And that's ignoring EQ's now-primitive combat system, graphics and UI. Good luck though, if that's what you really want. Signed for old times sake.

I used to think about coming back for many years but with the way EQ1 was i don't think I would ever be back to where I was seeming how I would have to start from scratch. I gave my account away years and years ago and to start new now as low as the server population is I think I would be completely lost on all the content after GOD.

This would be great. I really feel like no MMO comes close the the risk/reward in EQ 1 classic.

The scripting and events in PoP was really good.

I'd like first 3 expansions up to Velius, then add in PoP (minus plane of knowledge, make it so wizards are the only ones to be able to port to Plane of Tranquility)...

I did not like SoL at all, or anything after PoP but I thought PoP was great. But it would have to be flagged original PoP... That way it would help it from getting too old, and then add in some AA points introduced in SoL and the raid window, etc and it would help from getting too old too quick.

I actually liked the random instance system in LDON. Especially when the hard dungeons were challenging.

I think the problem is that EQ1 was a really unique/special experience the first time around. It was really awesome pre-SoL and so many want that experience back. The problem is, I don't really think there's a way to totally recreate the unique experiences EQ1 brought by merely doing all the old content again. Everybody knows how to get everything at this point. Everybody knows what strategies to use to down which boss targets, etc. The excitement in the discovery is going to be gone, which really is only available the first time through. EQ1 is a different game now, and who knows when/if another game will emerge that can truly recreate the wonder that it brought early on.

is vanguard even still around? that game seemed to get a lot of buzz and then bombed pretty hard.

i really think i could like an mmo if someone would just have the nuts to mix up the standard formula a little bit. then again, maybe they have and i missed those games because they failed. i'm not much of an early adopter to online games, i wait for a decent community to establish before i bother.

yea there's still a decent amount of people playing vanguard, in fact I made a post here a few days ago about my experiences with it recently

its got more people than the last time I resubbed to EQ and played on my old server there

Can't agree there, PoP widened the raid gear gap tenfold while essentially giving the finger to anyone who didn't enjoy raiding. PoK killed the sense of world size. It was during this expansion that I realized I wasn't enjoying the game anymore. I stuck around till gates though, quit just before that one came out.

PoP was my favorite expansion. I didn't like GOD one bit. In PoP you could get cheap sets of armor and go tear up old world content multi boxing so for me it was the funnest from a two boxing perspective.
