'Can't imagine why': Donald Trump denies responsibility for disinfectant confusion after some states report increased calls

What a shit stain of an individual........

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump said he takes no responsibility for a spike in cases of people misusing disinfectants after he wondered aloud last week about possibly injecting them as a treatment for coronavirus.

When asked Monday about the increase of people in some states ingesting disinfectants Trump answered: "I can't imagine why."

When pressed about whether he takes any responsibility, Trump said, "No, I don't."

Well he does have millions of supporters of whom by their silence, approve of his behavior even if it literally kills them.

Ergo, the question posed of "what could go wrong" the day after Trump got elected has been pretty well answered by now.

One thing for sure Trump supporters believe is that ignorance is bliss so you can sleep soundly knowing a great number of people are going to die happy.

According to THIS report from NY, calls were up about concerns of ingestion, not actual cases of intentional ingestion.

Moreover, out of the cases reported between Thursday and Friday, nine were specifically about possible exposure to Lysol. Ten were in regard to bleach and 11 about household cleaners in general, the spokesman said.

None of the people who reached out died or required hospitalization, the spokesman said.

Has anyone read anything where intentional ingestion resulted in hospitalization or death?

edit: It looks like exposure to disinfectants, according to the CDC, started increasing way before Trump made his comment:

Yet Trump did actually say what he said about Lysol and Clorox!!

Again -- you misrepresent what is actually being said.....why?
Did you read your link......probably not --
This is from your link --
An unusually high number of New Yorkers contacted city health authorities over fears that they had ingested bleach or other household cleaners in the 18 hours that followed President Trump’s bogus claim that injecting such products could cure coronavirus, the Daily News has learned.
The Poison Control Center, a subagency of the city’s Health Department, managed a total of 30 cases of possible exposure to disinfectants between 9 p.m. Thursday and 3 p.m. Friday, a spokesman said.
None of the people who reached out died or required hospitalization, the spokesman said.
But compared to last year, the number of cases was worthy of a double-take.

According to data obtained by The News, the Poison Control Center only handled 13 similar cases in the same 18-hour period last year.

Why did you re-post what my post already said?

And where in my post did I claim Trump never said that?

we all know how you think.......your implications by over looking the first part of your post were glaring......care to try again??

WTF are you talking about? What do you think my implications other than ...you know..."According to THIS report from NY, calls were up about concerns of ingestion, not actual cases of intentional ingestion."?

One report of actual ingestion...

Kansas official says man drank cleaner after Trump floated dangerous disinfectant remedy

And... there is this

Multiple governors appeared on news shows on Sunday morning to report that their states have seen an increase in calls concerning President Donald Trump’s recent suggestion that patients be injected with disinfectant to cure COVID-19.

On Sunday, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) said on ABC’s “This Week” that his office has received “hundred of calls” seeking guidance on Trump’s suggestion

The actual intelligence of the average American to recognize his bullshit has gone up a bit since most people are calling the poison centers before they drink/ingest the bleach.

I have a small bit of confidence that our genius of a leader does not 'intend" to kill anyone... although he certainly doesn't care if he does. What he intends is to create a triumphant narrative for himself. He does this, and has always done this, by spewing out a bizarre stream of consciousness word salad rant with the idea that something positive will stick, and everything else he will just deny he said. It absolutely works with his true believers. They will invariably point to the few sane things he has said or done and mysteriously manage to elide the 99% of garbage.

What he intends is for one of these random blatherings to be enough on the mark that he can claim it was his idea all along, that he saved everyone through his genius. Collateral damage is meaningless in his world.

He just says things in the moment that he thinks will put up a triumphant narrative to his cult like base. Later on, he'll take credit for something he didn't do if it's in the news, whether he talked about it before or not. He just pulls things out of his ass in the moment.

In his rallies, he does the same thing, and then uses their response as a way to see what works. It's not even so much a strategy as a behavior which his reptilian brain has evolved to use.

In these "briefings" he can't do that, though, so he throws a tantrum and tweets "fake news" when his bullshit is called out.

Trump:"It's not my fault if they're stupid enough to believe everything I say. Even I know I'm not supposed to believe everything I say because I know when I mean things I say, I just don't know why I say it."

It wasn't a suggestion. Stop spreading FUD.
ok, fine, i'll change it for you.

hey OP, is the existing thread discussing the orange shit bag's suggestion, without a wink, nod, hearty laugh and quick follow up that he's just fucking joking, NOT THAT THAT WOULD BE FUCKING APPROPRIATE ANYWAY, that the government study people injecting with bleach, which he would only suggest if he was COMPLETE FUCKING BRAIN DAMAGED AND AN UTTER MORON ALONG WITH ALL OF HIS APOLOGISTS, not appearing on your screen?

that good enough for you, @blackangst1?

lol no one cares if I'm ok with it including you. Doesn't change the fact it was a question not a suggestion.

The President of the United States of America suggested that disinfectants could cure COVID-19.

Even if zero people used disinfectant to try to prevent/cure themselves, what kind of fucking moron goes on television and suggests that disinfectants can cure a disease?

The President of the United States.

Spin that however you need to spin it.

We should start selling Patriot Bleach to his supporters “Puts the white back in America!”
