Epsons ORANGE fade problem resolved?

I've read that specifically the 8 series and the 1200 series of epsons printers have a bad problem of fading to an orange color on photo printouts. Someone stated in previous posts that this has been resolved. Yet i found this webpage http://home.cox.rr.com/meyerfamily/epson/epson.html which seems to be one of the more technical and definitive sites concerning this and it doesnt seem as if this problem has been fixed. Can anyone shed some light?

p.s. is epson still doing the buy back program?
