Its my understanding that all Epson printers have a printhead seperate from the cartridge.
Your big clue---examine the cartridge and if the outlet nozzle lacks a foil strip that looks a liitle
like a circuit board--as found on HP and Lexmark cartridges.----the printhead is likely in the printer.
If so----what you have is more accurately described as a inktank. This type is also shared by Canon printers and thereby reduces the users dependence on proprietary cartridges.---making them delights to the economy minded who like to refill or use third party cartridges.
But most economy minded users prefer Canon over Epson for two reasons. (1) Epson printers tend to experience printhead clogging far more often than Canons. (2) The Canon printhead is user removable and cleanable---for the Epson printers its factory service only.
There are some advantages to an Epson--mostly in using pigmented ink that resists fading better---and Epson does enjoy a following by some users.
So keep an open mind----look to other users experiences----and then decide. As for me-----I have a Canon--two in fact.-----but its your money and your call.
