I was reading the "Hot deal" thread about this printer over here and decided to take a look at it. I went to BB and printed a sample page from the printer. Boy it looks nice!
BUT...I did see some tearing in the picture. I was wondering if any of you that have this printer know anything about it? U think it is a driver issue that would be resolved by d/ling some newer drivers off the web?
btw...this is for casual printing. Pictures might be a possibility...but even that would be sparse usage here and there.
this may or may not replace our ancient b&w laser printer if that really matters to anyone.
oh..quick Q. on the website, I was comparing it to other Epson models like the Stylus Color 8 and Stylus Color 880. All three of these are $130..BUTthe Q i have is about the resolutions:
Color 8: 2880 x 720 dpi (on photo paper), 1440 x 720 dpi, 720 x 720 dpi, 360 x 360 dpi
Color 880: Up to 2880 x 720 dpi on photo papers
780: 2880 x 720 dpi; 1440 x 720 dpi; 720 x 720 dpi; 360 x 360 dpi; 120 x 120 dpi
from what it looks like, the top two are only limited to photo paper when it comes to printing at 2880x720. The 780 doesnt mention that at all. So does it mean it can print at whatever res u want on any type of paper?
