I only use after market ink and suggest so to others, if they want,to do so after the warranty has expired plus I would sure hate for someone to mess with my builds, pretend they never did then return it to me for warranty/no charge/ free repair...:|
 
Using generic ink doesn't void the warranty unless they can prove the generic ink caused the damage. Actually, for the price we pay for these printers...after a while the warranty is a moot point anyway. More hassle to box it up, send it in etc.. Often there was a new model anyway.
Or for $50 you can get a new printhead.

Any unapproved usage of a product by the purchaser will void the warraty of a Manufacturer if they deem so which includes, Changing HS/Fan to 1 Retail CPU (even if it's better), OCing, abuse or unauthorized/approved addition...
