Epson Printers can't decide

I am trying to choose between the Stylus C80 & Stylus 785EXP. I've read different reviews on these and they are pretty even on thier picks. No hands down winner. I was wondering if anyone has had expirence with these and can maybe lend a little insite on how they really are in the real world.
thanks, Don 🙂

If you have a digital camera you can use the 785EPX as a digital camera card reader, or photo printer.

One thing to think about though, the 785EPX comes with capabilities for a CompactFlash card. But you can easily get an adapter so it can read Smart media, or Sony's memory card, or even microdrives. It basically never becomes obsolete, even if you get a new digital camera.

I just got a 785EPX, but unfortunately, I had to exchange it. For some reason one of the print nozzles was irrepairably clogged.

EPSON makes great printers though. I've always used them. I even have an old EPSON color dot matrix that still works!

We've got an Epson Stylus 900 here at home. Second Epson we've had. The heads need constant cleaning on this machine. I mean it is a real pain. It frequently won't make it through a short print job without needing to be cleaned. I feel this is indigenous to this particular model though, so take it with a grain of salt.

My real problem with this printer is the long and NOISY initialization it goes through every time we start it up. You think it's done and click on "print" and then it goes through still more gryations. And it does it on shutdown too. Whirr, clack, creak, thrash. chunka-chunka, I mean it goes on and on and on. Every time I turn this thing on I want to scream.

Our next printer will not be an Epson.

I'm venting here but it's something to consider. They don't sound as noisy in the store as they do at home.

I stopped buying Epson for the reasons above. I had a 500, 600, 740. All the same problems. I use HP now and am much happier with them. No more clogged print heads.

Thanks, all
Any particular printer you all would recommend? I'm looking for a photo printer that will do decent text also. Price range around the price of the Epson 785EXP. maybe $200.00 +/-
