Epson Printer Problem

I have an Epson Action Lazer Printer 1000 and my operating system is Windows 98se. It seems when i print large documents the second line always seems to print over top of the first line and only on the very first page. Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to fix it? Any help is greatly appreciated.
