Epson Printer Cartridges Keep Drying Up

I currently have an Epson RX500 multifunction printer, and I am having a serious problem with my ink drying up. I print very little overall (maybe a page here and there a month). I do very little printing with photos, but I do like the memory card reader.
Are all inkjets still very prone to having the ink dry out without much use? If so, is there a decent multifunction laser printer I should consider? Of course, the other option is a basic laser (like the samsung 2010) and a basic scanner (?), though I wouldn't mind saving some space.
Any and all thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

The most prone to drying out are Epsons. Canons are better in that score, and HP doesn't really have the problem becuase they do not use permanent print heads.

Hmmm... I wonder if a HP multifunction would be worth considering then. Thanks for the input. Anyone have more to add?

Haven't had any issues with my Epson CX7800. Moving during the summer, didn't use it for over a month. Printed perfectly like as it always has.

Really any inkjet printer is prone to drying, but Epson is more prone than others. You should try to print something that will exercise all the nozzles at least twice a week - more frequently with Epson.

I guess that is my thing. I really don't want any real maintenance. That is why I am thinking of going laser...
