Did a search and didn't find this mentioned anywhere. CompUSA ad shows these as free after rebates:

Epson Photo Paper 20 sheets - $9.99 - $9.99 rebate - #184615
Epson 4" x 6" Photo Paper 20 sheets - $$5.99 - $5.99 rebate - #167074
Epson Heavyweight Matte Paper 50 sheets - $14.99 - $14.99 rebate - #272311

Limit 2 per customer.
Great paper and you can't beat free!

Sorry - I found them in the CompUSA store ads for 2/18 that were posted on idealwiz. They sell them on the website also but I don't know if the sale is good online as well. Better to pick them up at the store anyway to avoid paying shipping.

Isn't Epson photo paper the bad stuff that fades in a few days. I remember reading an article couple months back that their paper had problems. They claimed to have fixed the problem but the second design didn't work either. Is this the same stuff?

The epson fade problem is with the ink for the 1270/870 series.
The paper is not the problem.
Epson doesn't want to try to reformulate the ink, so they tried to change the paper.

As far as I know the fade problem has been fixed. If you search the internet I'm sure you'll find the answer. I am certain that it had nothing to do with the paper. Any paper will work in any printer, but will have varying results. I had crappy results with some Konica paper in my Epson Photo 750, while others had great results. Guess I'm supposed to fiddle with the gamma settings or something..... It usually takes some experimentation to see what works best in each printer. So, at this price, experiment away!!

Has anybody else noticed that the ad in the paper has SKU 272311 for the heavyweight matte paper, while the rebate form has SKU 272377 for it? It rings up as 272311 and that is what is printed on the receipt.

I was going to ask the customer service desk but the line was too long. Any ideas?

pantala,

When I asked about the different skus they said to send it in & if I had any trouble they would do a rebate adjustment in the store for me.

Note added
If you go to CompUSA.com they list only the SKU #272311 for the Epson Heavyweight matte paper 50 sheet box. Searching on the SKU #272377 returns "item not found", so there is apparently no paper with that SKU # in the CompUSA system.

Just did a SKU search on compusa.com. There is no 272377 product on their website. My guess is that the rebate form contains a typo. Seems understandable to me since the only difference are the last 2 digits, and those 2 digits (11 vs 77) are mistaken for each other sometimes.

Both the advertisement and the matte paper I purchased have the 272311 SKU. I'm going to submit it for the rebate.

Maxcom,

I've read quite a bit about it.
Some people have run tests using several types of paper.
The 870/1270 series ink fades on several brands of paper.
The Cyan breaks down with exposure to certain airborn polutants.
The Epson Photo Glossy Paper keeps the ink at the surface instead of absorbing it in, like most glossy. This exposes the ink to air more than other paper.
Epson reformulated the paper to absorb the ink in more so that less Cyan was exposed to air.

Again, anything less than Kodak glossy premium photo paper [$30/50 at Wolf/outpost.com might still be flooz promotion] or equiv. might as well put the cheque straight out for paper pick-up.

Someone typing up the rebate form just messed up and read 11 as 77. The matte paper you guys purchased is the correct one, as indicated in the ad.

I've used Epson, Kodak, and IBM glossy photo paper with my Epson 860, and I like Epson the best and Kodak the least. Maybe there are different grades of Kodak inkjet photo paper, and I got the lower quality one?

I noticed the difference in #'s also when I got home. Checked Epson's site and this particular package (Heavyweight paper) is the only one that matches up with anything that they sell that I could find. Gotta be a misprint on the rebate form or CompUSA's system so it shouldn't be a problem. As for quality I've used Epson, Kodak, HP, Burlington and anything else that came along. I prefer Epson with the new HP stuff running a close 2nd. Didn't like the Kodak at all. Different strokes . . .

Nobody got the SKU # in the rebate form. I don't think rebate center will reject everyone's rebate. It takes a real idiot to do that. Well, $hit happens :)

I found the sku's for all 3 papers mentioned in the ad.
The Matte paper - Heavyweight was hard to find.
The correct sku is the one in the ad, 272311.
Only found 1 box, by the printers.

Anyone know how well this matte paper will work in a laserjet?

I'm thinking about using it for resumes.
